Nandi Members of County Assembly led by their deputy speaker Wilson Sang have strongly condemned Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter’s comments on Deputy President William Ruto. Addressing the press at the County Assembly buildings, the MCAs distanced Nandi leaders and residents from comments made by Alfred Keter, saying they fully support Deputy President Ruto, “As leaders and Nandi residents we rally behind the deputy president and support his leadership fully,” said the leaders.
Keter was also castigated for purporting to be the Kalenjin spokesperson, and they said he isn’t mandated to talk on behalf of Nandi residents, except his constituency. Some Nandi leaders have given Keter an ultimatum of ten days to apologize to DP Ruto, and it remains to be seen whether the legislator will issue an apology.
