Companies and traders at the Kenya Trade Week have expressed their satisfaction with the ongoing event that will come to a conclusion on Friday, Deputy President William Ruto graced the event on Tuesday and lauded the international trade relations set up between Kenya and other countries. He also witnessed the launch of the new ‘Made in Kenya’ brand, setting Kenyan products on the pedestal on the international market.

On Wednesday, companies and different traders had displayed their goods, and some expressed their satisfaction with the event so far. “We thank the organizers, for we’ve had the chance to show our new products and other household goods such as Elianto, Golden Fry,” said Steve Kirowo, a representative from Bidco Company, “It’s a very good event for us.”
Giltech Fabricators Limited proprietor Lucas Ngige said different types of customers have viewed the display material so far, including Deputy President William Ruto, who viewed his vegetable cutter machine, newly made, “I had a good time with his excellency Deputy President William Ruto, I took him through what we do and he was happy,” he said. However, he noted that the Jua Kali sector has been poorly represented, and urged stakeholders to be more inclusive in their preparations next time, “In the Jua Kali sector, there aren’t many people, maybe they weren’t well informed. Next time the stakeholders should be more inclusive,” he said.
The panel discussions on Wednesday centred around illicit trade, with the government declaring a war against corruption and counterfeit goods. A multi agency team to tackle illicit trade was on show, led by Deputy Head of Public Service Wanyama Musiambo.
