The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) tests are set to start on Tuesday 30th October countrywide, and the candidates have set their eyes on the penultimate moment.
Speaking to West Media Limited in Nandi, Nandi County Director of Education Mr Lawrence Karuntimi confirmed that everything needed for successful KCPE in Nandi is in place, including measures to curb exam cheating.
Karuntimi said the exam material has been dispatched to the designated places and that exam officials will be going round to monitor the exercise to ensure all is well, according to the set KNEC (Kenya National Examinations Council) regulations. He said they don’t expect any cheating incidences as a result of the stringent measures put in place. Nandi County has a total of 26,322 registered KCPE candidates in 810 examination centres.
On Monday, supervisors and invigilators ensured everything is set and go in the respective schools and candidates countrywide were briefed on what will be required during the exam period. Sitting arrangements according to index numbers, lack of stimulus materials are also among the things which were verified.
