Kakamega County Ford Kenya leaders have written to their national office demanding the immediate withdrawal of Dr. Bonny Khalwale from the party. Speaking in Kakamega town, the officials led by their secretary general Bernard Makokha Barasa have said that lately Khalwale has been behaving in a manner suggesting he no longer cares about the party’s existence.
They said that Khalwale has publicly supported the Deputy President William Ruto’s ambition of becoming the next President despite being aware that his party leader Moses Wetangula has also declared interest in the same seat. “We can do without Khalwale in the party, given that what we’ve earned from him since he joined the party is negative growth,” said the SG. They alleged that he contributed to most of the party adherents withdrawing from the party and even losing almost all the seats they had garnered in the previous election.
The Ford Kenya office has said they will move on without the bull fighter’s support adding that it is not the party’s position to support Deputy President William Ruto in the coming elections but his as an individual.
They have however welcomed a merger between Wetangula and ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi in an effort to secure the top leadership position come 2022.
