Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji has acknowledged that investigations into the DusitD2 terror attack are complex and time is needed to uncover the whole syndicate. Five suspects of the Tuesday attack at Riverside that claimed 21 lives were arraigned in Court on Friday and the Court granted the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit 30 days to detain the suspects as investigations continue. “The investigations into this matter are complex and transnational and would therefore require sufficient time and resources to uncover the whole criminal syndicate,” noted DPP Haji in an official statement.
He said upon preliminary review of the investigations file, he is satisfied that there is probable cause to continue with investigations against the five suspects-Joel Ng’ang’a Wainaina, Oliver Kanyago Muthee, Gladys Kaari Justus, Guleid Abdihakim and Osman Ibrahim. The DPP has assured Kenyans that everything possible shall be done to ensure the persons behind the organization, planning, funding, and execution of the terror attack will be brought to book and that justice is delivered to the victims of the heinous crime.
