Bungoma East OCPD Zacchaeus Ng’eno has urged parents to take good care of their children, following the arrest of a man from Chebosi, Webuye who had defiled a minor. The OCPD said parents should always confirm the whereabouts of their children, especially the school going children, since there are some culprits who may be hell bent on messing the lives of the children by raping them or involving them in drug abuse cycles. The man who was arrested, 26-year-old MacDonald Wambilianga was arrested after a search was launched by the parents of the victim, a school going child. They got information that their child, who had been missing for more than a week was seen in Chebosi, and they traced the house and informed the police who arrested the culprit.
OCPD Ng’eno said medical reports indicated that the man had defiled the girl, saying he must face the consequences. He pledged to wipe out all the indecent vices including drug abuse, and urged community members to divulge any information to the authorities if they suspect anyone is involved in drug abuse and trafficking, defilement. He said security issues involve everyone and all should look to be their brothers’ keepers. Wambilianga will be arraigned at the Webuye Law Courts to face charges. This comes barley a day after another culprit, a boda boda rider in Webuye, was arrested for defilement and was arraigned in court on Tuesday. However, he denied the charges leveled against him and was remanded as police continue with investigations.
