Six more NTSA (National Transport and Safety Authority) officials have been remanded for 30 days after the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit obtained orders to detain them as they continue to probe their involvement in issuing a fake number plate to the Dusit complex terrorists. The six-Cosmas Ngeso, Irving Irungu, Jacqueline Githinji, Anthony Kadu, Stephen Kariuki, Charles Ndung’u were arraigned before resident magistrate Caroline Nzibe on Friday, and follow the path of another NTSA official, Augustine Musembi, who was arraigned in court on Wednesday, and is under police custody.
According to the prosecution, they were arrested due to their possible involvement in aiding and abetting the terrorist attack. Cases of vehicles having same number plates have been brought to the fore, and after the attack, it was revealed there was another car in Kitengela, Kajiado County, with the same number plate as the car which was used by the attackers, registration number KCN 340E. On Wednesday, ATPU officers raided NTSA offices in Upper Hill, Nairobi and arrested several officials as the Dusit terror attack investigations go a notch higher.
