Labour CS and the acting Treasury CS Ukur Yattani has affirmed that he’ll do his best in his new role to realize the dream of transforming Kenya. Speaking moments after his appointment was confirmed, Yattani thanked President Uhuru Kenyatta for the honour and trust shown to him, adding that he’ll strive to ensure there is fiscal soundness of the economy by giving priority to the areas that will support the government’s Big Four Agenda and the realization of Vision 2030.
He said he is fully conversant with ongoing issues facing the government, “I’m fully conversant with the matters in government and public expectation at the moment, given my appointment is coming at a time when there are issues that deal with governance.” He noted that he’ll do his best to ensure there is discipline at all levels. Dr. Julius Muia has been appointed the Treasury Principal Secretary, while Torome Saitoti has taken over as the PS for the State Department of Planning.
