Plans to host Chief Justice David Maraga in Vihiga County on Friday are in top gear. According to Vihiga Principal Magistrate Samson Ongeri the preparations are almost complete.
During the visit, the CJ is expected to inaugurate a new Court complex whose construction was funded by World Bank to the tune of Ksh 78.4 Million under Judiciary Performance Improvement Project (JPIP).
Once opened, he said the facility will provide a favorable work environment for staff and clients thus enabling administration of justice expeditiously.
The Complex will house 4 Court rooms, 4 Court chambers for magistrates, a modern equipped library for research open for magistrates and the public, spacious customer care desk, room for breastfeeding mothers, spacious cells to separately accommodate men, women and children.
Ongeri added that alongside inauguration of the new building, the CJ is expected to interact with the staff and the public in an effort to appreciate challenges faced in administration of justice and if possible provide solutions.
Among those expected to accompany the CJ are Vihiga Senator George Khaniri, Deputy Governor Patrick Saisi, Members of Parliament from the region among others.
