Maeni ward-based Maeni Girls Secondary school in Kimili, Bungoma County has battled against the odds beating experienced Copa Coca Cola contenders to play this year’s final in the ongoing KSSSA games in Kisumu.

The Green Queens emerged top in group B having outshined Waa girls and Itaara girls before settling for a barren draw with Kobala in their last group match on Thursday.

In Friday’s semi-final, Noel Oruko was on the spot scoring two goals as Lydia Shisima’s side pummeled Njabini 2-0 to book the junior final ticket.

On the other hand Rift Valley U16 girls representatives Wiyeta girls defeated Kobala in the semis to book a final spot against Maeni. Captain Amida Jamila was stamped on the scoreboard bagging the lone goal to bear a 100 per cent clean sheet since the competitions began early this week.

The maestro striker has been substantially impressive in the competitions, manifesting her junior tactical recreation since the competitions began.

Wiyeta deputy principal Ruth Nyongesa, however, said the young 15-year-old adept player has dedicated herself to showcase her talent through soccer.

In an interview with West media earlier on, Amida reiterated that she wants to play for Harambee starlets. Her dream might come true after Harambee starlets coach David Ouma was spotted in Kisumu scouting young talents. The two teams will lock horns in Saturday’s final.
