A chief’s baraza was brought to a stand still after a man bumped into the meeting wanting the chief to intervene in a matter where his family had rejected him for allegedly raping his 86 year old mother. 47-year-old Alusiola Igunza disrupted the meeting that was going on at Shirere chief’s camp asking for help from the leader.
He claimed that his family had sent him away claiming that tradition does not permit him to mingle with the family members after the heinous act.
Igunza is alleged to have raped his aged mother seven months ago and was arrested and arraigned in a Kakamega court a number of times but was released due to lack of evidence.
According to the Bukhungu chief Maurice Muchiti, Igunza was released after being remanded for seven months as there was no evidence against him.
