A medical camp organized by Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has entered its third day with residents from Matungu, Mumias West and Mumias East getting free transportation, free medical check ups, free medication and lunch at Bomani sports ground in Mumias West.
This year’s medical camp is different from the previous one held last year when residents from all the 12 Kakamega County constituencies were ferried to Bukhungu stadium for check ups and medication. The camp lasts for four days with the residents from North and Central Kakamega receiving services at Malava primary school and Solyo grounds in Malava and Shinyalu respectively during the last two days.
The medical camp has seen the introduction of Hamptons hospital in Butere constituency where Dr. Maurice Siminyu stressed the importance of residents visiting the hospital for early cancer screening, acts which can help in curbing the disease. Speaking on Friday, Senator Malala noted the need for a faster implementation of the Universal Healthcare plan by the national government. He also called for the equipping of cancer screening centres at the grassroots level to enable residents in those areas to benefit.
In his speech today senator Malala stressed the need for faster
