The Asian community in Trans Nzoia County and the County
government of Trans Nzoia have set sights on partnership programme that will see doctors and nurses from the County head to India for training in various health disciplines. Speaking at the Kitale Level Four when he joined Vishwal Oshwal community who had visited the facility and contributed 300 blankets for children, the acting medical superintendent officer at the
facility Dr. Samuel Masibo said plans are underway to ensure staff from the facility travel to India to take part in training.
Masibo affirmed the continued partnership between the Indian community and the County government of Trans Nzoia in the past eight years, where the community has been contributing foodstuff, water among other things for patients at the facility.
On her part county CEC For Health Claire Wanyama thanked the Asian
community, saying they’ve offered great support at the Kitale Level Four Hospital, adding that the County administration will continue working with them. She, however, urged residents together with health officers to provide any useful information they have concerning any malpractices in the hospitals. She said this after complaints emerged concerning rampant corruption in hospitals in the County.
The Asian community representative appreciated the good working environment between the community and the County government. He said Indians under their umbrella donated the foodstuff and blankets for the sick, and lauded them for their unwavering support whenever a charity need arises.
