As the world celebrated global hand washing day all over the world, Bungoma DEB headmaster Mr. Tobias Khisa has urged parents to make sure their children wash their hands after visiting the toilet and before eating using clean water.
Speaking to West Media, Khisa said that as the head teacher and a science teacher he has made sure that his students wash their hands by installing 20 running taps near the toilets so as to reduce the spread of water borne diseases.
He urged those people who do not clean their hands to do so, claiming if there is a lack of tap water, harvested rain water should be used instead.
He also advised the public at large not to use stagnant water to clean their hands but to use running water as it causes the spread of germs to other parts of the hand.
