After staying for five months without an administrator, finally residents of Mwamba sub- location in
Lumakanda location, Lugari sub county had a reason to smile after a new assistant chief was
officially installed in a pompous ceremony that was graced by Lugari deputy county commissioner William Lenaremo.
Speaking at Majengo when he officially installed Mr. Edwin Alukhala Nashirobe as the new Mwamba sub location assistant chief Lenaremo called on the residents to fully cooperate with him to enhance security and development.
Lenaremo also called on those whom Nashirobe had competed with during the recruitment interview to accord him their full cooperation revealing that already his office was receiving adverse reports from some of the area residents even before the officer fully assumes his responsibilities.
Congratulating Nashirobe for getting the administration job, the DCC disclosed that his office received a total of 46 applications out of which 17 were shortlisted and went through vigorous interview and Nashirobe emerged the best. “I am therefore instructing the officer to serve all residents without fear or favor,” the commissioner said adding that it was the responsibility of all grass root administrators to accord the public exemplary services.
He cautioned against condoning illicit brews in their areas and warned administrators who casually performed their duties saying that their time was up. “Illicit brews have been known to contribute to escalating insecurity,” he said adding that chiefs should ensure that the vice was stopped within their areas and security promoted.
Also present was the Lugari Constituency office manager Boaz Bulimu who represented the area member of parliament Ayub Savula. Mr. Bulimu reiterated the need of teamwork and good working relationship between leaders and residents for the area to achieve development.
Marakusi sub location has remained without an assistant chief since June this year following the death of the then serving assistant chief John Konzolo.
