President Uhuru Kenyatta has urged Kenyans, especially the political class to read the Building Bridges Initiative report once it will be released. The report is set to be handed to President Uhuru Kenyatta next week on Tuesday. Speaking during the 4th graduation ceremony of Kibabii University in Bungoma, he said some are already opposing the report yet they don’t know its content. “There are those saying they don’t want it and don’t know what’s inside, we educate people so that they can read,” he said.
He urged Kenyans to go through the report together and come up with solutions that can unite the country and its institutions, “Where is the problem now? My only prayer especially to the political class, because I know other Kenyans don’t have a problem, please let’s read (the report),” he said.
He added that leaders don’t want to divide the country, while at the same time acknowledging there are issues to be addressed in the country, “Only a fool will say that there are no issues in this country that do not require addressing, so let’s address them as adults, as civilized human beings, let’s appreciate that we may have divergent views but the objective is to make our motherland better.”
