As the Malala football tournament gears towards the finals, women soccer teams in Kakamega County have accused Senator Cleophas Malala of ignoring them and only focusing on men teams.

Speaking to West Media, the women players regretted that for the second  year in a row Malala has ignored them in his multi-million tournament.

They said like men they also had talent that needs to be natured and expose them to big teams at the national level.

“We want to remind our senator that women also voted for him and they too have got talents that  are supposed  to be natured to the highest leve,” they said.

Giving an example  of the recently starling performance  by the Harambee Starlets  who did the country  proud  by winning the CECAFA cup without conceding even a single goal despite  scoring more than 20 goals in the tournament, the ladies asked the senator  to stop discriminating them.

“Currently schools have closed and all children are at home but our senator has chosen  to safeguard boy child alone while discriminating against the girl child. Whom does he want to safeguard the girls, does it mean that  women votes doesn’t  count? ”  posed the women soccer players.

The appealed to Malala to stop demeaning women who are the majority voters advising him to include them in all his activities.o
