A security guard manning one of the Supermarkets at Chavakali was killed last night by armed gang and his colleague is recuperating at Vihiga County Referral Hospital after sustaining serious injuries.
Confirming the incident the area police commander Hassan Barua said the thugs armed with crude weapons attacked the two killing one on the spot.
He said the gang managed to escape after the incident adding that the security officers have launched investigation to bring down the gang that has been terrorizing residents in the area.
The police boss has asked the locals to work closely with police to curb down the raising cases of insecurity in the region. “We are going to have barazas in the area, and call upon the nyumba kumi to work hand in hand with the police to wipe out the gang in the area,” Barua said.
