Several people were injured in a Saturday morning road accident that involved five
vehicles at Kabrengu along the Eldoret–Webuye highway in Matete, Kakamega County.
According to eye witnesses the accident occurred after a tipper truck ferrying construction material brakes’ failed while descending towards Nzoia bridge before ramming into another trailer that was in front pushing it to hit a second vehicle in front.
The truck then moved past the trailer before hitting a salon car from behind and also pushed it to hit a canter that was in front injuring several people. Afterwards, the truck veered of the road before it fell.
Those injured were rescued by good samaritans and rushed them to Webuye sub county hospital.
The accident occurred at the same spot where another accident occurred last week killing one person leaving others with injuries after a truck hit a motorbike rider killing him on the spot before it fell and burst into flames.
