A family in Lumakanda location Lugari Sub County has been directed to take a self-quarantine after one of the family members recently jetted back in the country from abroad.
A team of government officials led by Lugari Deputy County Commissioner William Lenaremo, Sub county police Commander Patrick Maundu and the Sub County Medical Officer of Health Dr. Patrick Ndambuki visited the family on Monday and guided them on safety precautions directing them to observe a 14-day self-quarantine.
It’s alleged the family member who works in Canada flew back in the country and joined his family about 12 days ago without the knowledge of the locals and government officers.
However, on realizing his presence in the village, concerned neighbours informed government officials prompting the team to visit the family and guide it.
The officials also ordered a contractor and his team who had just commenced construction work in the compound to stop immediately, sanitize and leave.
According to the officials the construction will only resume if the family members test negative for the Coronavirus after the quarantine and any tests if required.
