Kenyans have been urged to desist from undermining the directives set by the government to tackle the Coronavirus, even as cases reach 336. 16 more cases have been confirmed out of 946 tested samples in the last 24 hours, 11 from Nairobi and 5 in Mombasa.
Speaking to the press on Friday, Health CAS Rashid Aman said some leaders have disregarded the directive on social distancing in the past few days, citing instances in Meru and Elgeyo Marakwet Counties, noting that a degree of complacency may be creeping back. He also said there have been calls to push for a full reopening of Courts, “While we know the Courts serve a very important function in this country, this is not the time to pull back,” he said, and he lauded Chief Justice David Maraga for exercising restraint in handling the matter.
Of the 11 cases in Nairobi, 5 are in Dandora, 2 in City Park, 2 in Parklands, 1 in Eastleigh, 1 in Pipeline. 887 contacts are being monitored.
