Nandi Governor Stephen Sang has urged Nandi farmers to join cooperative societies in order to gain access to government grants. Speaking in Mbogo Valley in Tinderet constituency where he distributed certified coffee seedlings to coffee farmers, Governor Sang said that cooperatives are very important as it enables members get access to government loans and assistance.
He revealed that his administration is working with farmers cooperative societies from across Nandi to support coffee farming as it is one of the industries that provide sustainable income.
He also distributed relief support inputs to landslides displaced persons in the region to help improve their livelihoods. Tinderet constituency is one of the areas in Nandi that has been hit seriously affected by floods and mudslides which have left people homeless.
