The County government of Nandi through its Ministry of health has put in measures to ensure the installation of ICU beds in Nandi hills County hospital and Kapsabet County referral hospital is accomplished in 3 weeks time.
Nandi Governor Stephen Sang in a press address said the county has 11 ICU beds 4 in Nandi hills hospital and 7 in Kapsabet County referral hospital which are at its final stages.
“We are finalizing the creation of Intensive Care Unit beds (ICU) in 2 hospitals and it is in its final touches as it will be completed in 3 weeks time,” Sang affirmed.
The Governor said the beds are meant to enhance preparedness with emergency cases especially Covid-19 cases if they arise in the County.
The County government will moreover, ensure health workers are well catered for and will discharge their duties in a well conducive environment. The administration has also put up measures to ensure all the health facilities across Nandi are well equipped as it has procured enough equipment.
On her part, Health CEC Ruth Koech urged Nandi residents to continue honoring the health ministry’s directives concerning the Covid-19 pandemic which include social distancing, washing hands with soap and running water and putting on face masks when in public places.
