278 people have tested positive for the Coronavirus throughout Kenya in the last 24 hours, with the number of cases now up to 5,811. All except 2 are Kenyans. This is out of 4,074 tested samples. During the Saturday briefing Health CAS Dr Mercy Mwangangi said 4 more people have died, with fatalities now at 141, while 31 people have been discharged, the total recoveries now at 1,936.
Trans Nzoia and Vihiga Counties have recorded new cases, according to the Health CAS. The cases in Trans Nzoia are 2-all in Kwanza, while 1 case has been recorded in Vihiga, from Vihiga town, Busia County has 10 cases, Teso North has 7 cases, Teso South 2 and Matayos 1. As of Friday, the Counties in Western region County-Kakamega, Bungoma, Vihiga, Busia, Trans Nzoia-had 400 cases, with most of the cases, 387, in Busia County. Bungoma had 8 cases, Kakamega 3, Trans Nzoia 1, Vihiga 1.
Of the new cases on Saturday, Nairobi County leads with 171, Mombasa 37, Nakuru 17, Kiambu 12, Busia 10, Uasin Gishu 9, Kajiado 4, Migori 3, Kericho 2, Machakos 2, Nandi 2, Trans Nzoia 2, Siaya 1, Taita Taveta 1, Kwale 1, Kisumu 1, Makueni 1, Meru 1 and Vihiga County 1.
