The Nandi Finance CEC Alfred Lagat tabled the 2020/2021 County budget estimates of Kshs 7.3 billion to the County Assembly of Nandi with 4 flagship projects together with the pending bills taking a large share of the budget. While presenting the budget estimates to the assembly, Lagat said the 30% of the budget has been allocated towards funding of the flagship projects and to the payment of all the pending bills as per the National treasury directives.
He explained that the 4 flagship projects one being the Mother and Baby Hospital construction ongoing at the Kapsabet County Referral Hospital which is yet to be elevated to a level 5 hospital, was allocated annual funding of about Kshs 400 million. Moreover other dockets which benefited from the budget includes the health sector, education, business and infrastructure among many other dockets in that order.
