The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has warned that any one found spreading hate speech or hate discussions that will fuel disputes and clashes will face the full wrath of the law. A team of commissioners from the NCIC led by commissioner Philip Okundi who visited Nandi for a fact finding mission on the Nandi-Kakamega border disputes, cited that the commission will not tolerate any incitement from anybody.
The team held a meeting with the County commissioner of Nandi Olaka Kutswa, the security team and peace building committees in a bid to try and set up peace processes that will resolve the disputes between the borders.
The Nandi and Kakamega border has been marred by tribal disputes for some time now, with the latest incident leading to loss of lives.
The commission cited that they have had meetings with leaders from the 2 Counties and have resolved to end the wrangles by putting in place measures to curb the disputes adding that both communities need peace.
The commission has revealed that the government process of investigation into the killings is in place and urged the public to respect the government solution. On the other hand, Nandi County commissioner Olaka Kutswa said normalcy has resumed at these borders with high security patrols to ensure safety of the public adding that the peace building committees from the border are working with the security team to promote peace.
