In Vihiga, the case was recorded at Mbale Town, the County’s first case, joining Kakamega, Bungoma, Trans Nzoia and Busia Counties as Western Kenya Counties with confirmed cases. Busia County has recorded 6 cases, 5 from the Malaba Point of Entry and 1 from Matayos. Speaking earlier, Health Director General Dr. Patrick Amoth said the cases of truck drivers can’t be only attributed to the Kenya Ports Authority from Mombasa where they pick their cargo. Covid-19 cases in Busia County have increased with each passing day, most of these being truck drivers. Amoth said the infection of truck drivers is attributed to a municipality of factors, given that they come from various communities and different towns.
