Education CS Prof. George Magoha has said parents who have already paid the 2nd and 3rd term fees for students will be refunded. This is after the 2020 education calendar for primary and secondary schools was declared lost due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Some parents move to clear the whole year’s academic fees earlier. However, he said fees for 1st terms won’t be refunded, since only a few days were remaining to its culmination, “The first term fees was spent and it’s gone,” he said, adding that there won’t be a discussion supporting the idea that the term, which was cut short in March, didn’t end fully.
On Tuesday, the Education CS announced that learning in primary and secondary schools will resume in 2021. Officials backed out of a plan to reopen schools in September, owing to among other reasons, an increase in the number of Coronavirus infections over the past couple of weeks.
