The County Assembly of Nandi might resume its sessions next month depending on the results of a mass testing exercise conducted on assembly staff. This is according to the speaker of the County Assembly of Nandi Joshua Kiptoo who said the resumption will be based on the Covid-19 results.
Kiptoo revealed that the Assembly swiftly acted after one MCA tested positive for the virus, prompting the closure of the assembly premises, “The exercise was carried out by Kapsabet County Referral hospital health care workers and the results will be out in 4 days time,” Kiptoo said.
The speaker said although the Assembly will have gone a whole month without conducting any tasks, it’s way better than risking lives, noting that the safety of staff has been prioritized. “We have also carried out fumigation of the Assembly premises,” he added. The MCA who tested positive is in isolation, receiving medication.
