Leaders across the political divide and Kenyans at large have been urged to tone down the political rhetoric and early campaigns that are raising political temperatures.

West Pokot Governor John Lonyangapuo has castigated politicians in the country for engaging in early 2022 politics citing diversion from a development agenda.

The County boss said that Kenyans should shun politics and instead focus on engaging in constructive work and focus on the Big Four Agenda and service delivery.

Speaking while meeting boda boda riders in Kapenguria, Lonyangapuo said that elected leaders should be given time to deliver what they promised to Kenyans. “We still have two years to go to the general elections but Kenyans have already started politicking,” he said.

He cited that President Uhuru Kenyatta should be given humble time to work for Kenyans and deliver on his promises.“We have been seeing politicians moving around and eating in other people’s homes making alliances for 2022,” said Lonyangapuo.

He said many politicians have been divided along party lines. “Why do we form groups and start moving around the country to drum up support for some leaders? Why do you want to confuse Kenyans?” he posed.

The Governor said he was amazed by some leaders who are behaving as if the Presidency is vacant. He also laughed at Luhya leaders who are fighting amongst themselves, asking them to stop wrangles. “Our Luhya brothers are ever wrangling on Television and engaging in fights.”
