A section of Jubilee Members of County Assembly from Bungoma County supporting Deputy President William Ruto have urged president Uhuru Kenyatta to arrest and prosecute corrupt officers in the Ministry of Health.
Addressing different women groups and church members in Korosiondet and Katomei villages in Lwandanyi ward, Sirisia Sub-Cunty, Lwandanyi ward MCA Tony Barasa who was accompanied by MCAs Martin Wanyonyi Pepela (Ndivisi Ward), Jane Chebet Kamwanja (Cheptais Ward) and Francis Chemion (Kaptama Ward) said the law should not be applied selectively, highlighting the case of Sirisia MP John Waluke who was found guilty in a maize scandal.
“I want to categorically speak out this with no fear of contradiction that corruption has become the order of the day in the government and we are not happy the way it’s being handled selectively,” said Baraza.
Cheptais Ward MCA Jane chebet lamented the way leaders especially MPs supporting DP Ruto are frustrated and mishandled saying everyone has freedom of association according the constitution.
The leaders also donated twenty iron sheets and twenty bags of cement to Korosiondet Gospel Believers Fellowship church for the new construction project.
Akmorkina women group from Amoru, Katomei village also received building materials from area MCA Barasa to start a poultry project and sustain themselves.
Paul Emojong one of the group leaders thanked leaders for their support urging young men and women to form groups and start projects that will enable them to earn money.
