Kenya’s Health Ministry has confirmed 164 new Coronavirus cases, taking the total virus cases to 37,871. The Ministry in a statement on Saturday said the cases were picked from 3,872 samples, with cumulative tests conducted now at 536,601.
Of the new cases, 140 are Kenyans and 24 are foreigners with 115 being males while 49 females. The youngest is 6-months old while the oldest is 81-years-old. With 77 patients discharged in the last 24 hours, the total recoveries have risen to 24,581. 40 have been discharged from different hospitals and 37 from the home based care program. However, 7 more deaths have been recorded, bringing the fatalities to 689.
On distribution in the Counties, Nairobi leads with 41 cases, followed by Busia with 22 cases. Kisumu has 17, Turkana 14, Embu 12, Mombasa 11, Nakuru 10, West Pokot 6, Trans Nzoia 5, Narok 4, Machakos 4, Uasin Gishu 4, Kilifi 3, Bungoma 2, Kiambu, Marsabit 2 cases each, Kakamega, Kericho, Siaya and Taita Taveta 1 case each.
