The Health Ministry on Tuesday confirmed 139 new cases of Covid-19, raising Kenya’s total cases to 37,218. Speaking during the daily Covid-19 briefing, Health CAS Mercy Mwangangi said the new cases were picked from 1,774 tested samples, with cumulative tests now at 520,124.
Of the new cases, 112 are males while 12 are females. 125 were Kenyans while 14 were foreigners. The fatalities have risen to 659 after 9 patients succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours. However, 198 patients have recovered, bringing the recoveries to 24,147. 152 were discharged from various hospitals while 46 recovered under the home based care program.
In the Counties, the cases are distributed as follows; Nairobi 46, Kisumu 44, Mombasa, Kajiado and Kericho 9 each, Kiambu 6, Laikipia 4, Machakos 3, Nakuru 2, Kirinyaga, Kisii, Makueni, Meru, Embu and Turkana 1 case each.
