In efforts to curb corruption in the revenue department, Bungoma County revenue collection department has launched a short code phone application that will enable business operators to pay for their permits with ease. County revenue director Ambrose Makokha says the code of *483*039# will enable business operators pay at the comfort of their phones saying it allows for them to pay for the several business entities they own.
The services include payment for single business permit, property rates, parking, PSV stickers, boda boda stickers as well as to verify for the payments you have made. Mr. Makokha also said the County government of Bungoma has, through, Governor Wycliffe Wangamati has approved a 100% waiver for defaulters of property rates saying customers who will pay in full the penalties will be waived for them.
He further disclosed that they are allowing customers to give them acceptable payment plans which will enable them pay taxes in a flexible manner saying they are focussing on having a mutual working relationship with the customers. The director however called upon the workers in the department to be honest in executing their roles saying those who may devise crude ways of soliciting money from customers their days are numbered.
