The Health Ministry has confirmed 261 new Covid-19 cases bringing the country’s total caseload to 39,184. The cases were picked from 3,387 samples tested in the last 24 hours. In a statement, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said the youngest is a 4-month-old child and the oldest is 80-years-old. 249 of these are Kenyans while 12 are foreigners.
The recoveries have risen to 26,426 after 312 patients were discharged within the past day. 229 recovered under the home based care program and 83 were discharged from hospitals. However, 3 more patients succumbed to the virus, raising fatalities to 728.
Among the Counties, Nairobi registered the most new cases with 128 followed by Kisumu with 37 and Mombasa 13. Kisii has 12, Kilifi 11, Uasin Gishu 8, Machakos 7, Nakuru 5, Kajiado 5, Kiambu 5, Meru 5, Kitui 4, West Pokot 3, Nyamira 3, Garissa 2, Tharaka Nithi 2, Nandi 1, Elgeyo Marakwet 1, Homa bay 1, Embu 1, Lamu 1, Makueni 1, Nyeri 1, Siaya 1, Vihiga 1, Trans Nzoia 1 and Kakamega 1.
