EPRA recalculates fuel costs; Prices in some Western towns

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has recalculated fuel prices after the Kenya Revenue Authority adjusted upwards the excise duty on Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene. The move by KRA comes after taking into account the average inflation rate of 4.94% for the financial year 2019/20.

With the recalculation by EPRA, Super Petrol price increases by Kshs 1.12 per litre, while Kerosene and Diesel increase by Kshs 0.58 per litre respectively. The pump prices will be in effect from October 3rd to October 14th. In Nairobi, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 106.55 per litre, Diesel will retail at Kshs 95.09 per litre and Kerosene at Kshs 83.73 per litre.

Prices in notable towns in Western Counties are as follows; In Kakamega Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 107.22 per litre, Diesel at Kshs 95.98 per litre and Kerosene at Kshs 84.65 per litre. In Mumias Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 107.50 per litre, Diesel at Kshs 96.26 per litre and Kerosene at 84.93 per litre. In Bungoma, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 107.95 per litre, Diesel at Kshs 96.70 and Kerosene at Kash 85.37. In Webuye Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 107.61, Diesel at Kshs 96.37 and Kerosene at Kshs 85.04 per litre.

In Kitale, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 107.55 per litre, Diesel at Kshs 96.30 per litre and Kerosene at Kshs 84.97 per litre. In Moi’s Bridge, Super Petrol will cost Kshs 107.24 per litre, Diesel Kshs 96.00 per litre, Kerosene Kshs 84.67 per litre. In Malaba Super Petrol will cost Kshs 108.35, Diesel Kshs 97.10 and Kerosene Kshs 85.77. In Eldoret Super Petrol will cost Kshs 107.18, Diesel will cost Kshs 95.94 and Kerosene will cost 84.61. In Kapenguria Super Petrol will cost Kshs 108.18, Diesel will cost Kshs 96.94 and Kerosene will cost Kshs 85.60 per litre.
