A section of leaders have urged the national government to hasten the distribution of BBI copies to Kenyans who can’t access the report through the internet. Speaking in Sirisia town former Bungoma Agriculture County Executive Committee Mr. Patrick Nabiswa Koyi said many Kenyans have not accessed the report. “Many Kenyans are arguing about the report, whether to support it or not, but the truth of the matter is that they have no read it, so it is upon the government to ensure the copies reach people before the Bomas meeting which is slated for Monday 26th,” Dr. Koyi said.
He further appealed to Kenyans to read, understand and scrutinize the content in the report before jumping to conclusions, adding that the decision they make might affect them either positively or negatively in the future.
In his opinion Koyi said there was no need to amend the current Constitution arguing that it has not been fully implemented, expressing his worry on some key sections that might overburden the common mwananchi if amended. He added that there is a huge wage bill in the country, with leaders and civil servants earning lots of money while Kenyans are benefiting less in terms of projects.
