Amani National Coalition party leader Musalia Mudavadi has urged political leaders to shun divisive politics saying they should learn from the 2007/2008 post election violence experience. Addressing mourners during a funeral service at Kiptuiya ward in Chesumei constituency, Nandi County, Mudavadi affirmed that leaders should stop reckless talk and utterances that can fuel tension and trigger violence.
He said that leaders who attended the National Prayer Service at State House insisted on the importance of peace and unity. Mudavadi further asked leaders to unite irrespective of their political differences and work together for the betterment of Kenya by enhancing cohesion and integration among Kenyans. “We don’t want divisive politics which can plunge the nation into problems thus leaders should work together in uniting the nation, we have seen people lose lives because of bad politics and we don’t want our nation to go in that direction” Concerning the rising cases of Covid-19, Mudavadi urged leaders and Kenyans to continue adhering to the Ministry of Health safety directives.
