Nandi County government has partnered with the Kenya Red Cross and the Health Ministry in a bid to sensitize residents on the importance of keeping Covid-19 infection prevention guidelines. Kenya Red Cross Nandi coordinator Julius Sang confirmed the partnership saying it aims to ensure the residents stay safe.
He said the Covid-19 surge is not only being witnessed in Nandi County but countrywide, and it’s due to carelessness, given that people aren’t observing the laid down directives which include washing hands with soap and water regularly, social distancing, wearing of masks among others. He also attributed the surge to the lifting of government restrictions which were meant to limit the virus spread. His sentiments come days after the Nandi County headquarter offices were closed following Covid-19 positive tests among staff, with cases in the County rising.
