1,109 new Covid-19 cases have been confirmed by the Ministry of Health, taking Kenya’s total confirmed cases to 60,704. The cases were picked from 7,153 samples tested in the last 24 hours, with cumulative tests conducted now at 730,363. Of the cases, 1,073 are Kenyans and 36 are foreigners. 699 are males while 410 are females and the youngest in a one-year-old baby and the oldest is 91.
21 patients have succumbed to the virus bringing the fatalities to 1,093. This keeps with the recent high fatalities across the country, with the positivity rate also high. 938 patients have recovered from the disease bringing the total recoveries to 40,131. 856 of these recovered under the home based care program, while 82 have been discharged from various hospitals.
The cases in the Counties are distributed as follows; Nairobi 347 cases, Mombasa 198, Nakuru 73, Uasin Gishu 69, Meru 63, Kiambu 40, Kisumu 36, and Nyeri 29, Kilifi 28, Kakamega 25, Trans Nzoia 23, Kajiado 20, Turkana 20, Machakos 17, Busia 15, Laikipia 14, Bungoma 12, Garissa 11, Kisii 11, Siaya 10, Kitui 7, Kwale 7, Nandi 6, Tharaka Nithi 6, Kericho 4, Muranga 4, Mandera 3, Baringo 3, and Embu 2, Bomet, Makueni, Isiolo, Kirinyaga, Taita Taveta and Nyamira have 1 case each.
