Kiptuiya ward residents residing near river Kimondi in Chesumei constituency, Nandi County are now living in fear after divers retrieved four bodies from the river, and one had missing body parts. The residents from Kamobo, Kapsasur and Amai bordering the river have now urged the police to intensify the security presence by increasing patrols in the area.
Kiptuiya MCA Geoffrey Kevolwe who was at the site during the search of a body of a man who had plunged himself into the river, was shocked to find out that the divers had found extra bodies in the river. He speculated that there could be more bodies in the river and called for government divers to be deployed and conduct a thorough search. He said it’s possible people were being killed at Kimondi bridge, situated along the Kapsabet-Kisumu road, in Kimondi forest among other places, and their bodies thrown into the river. The search for the man’s body is still ongoing.
