Kenya’s Coronavirus cases have risen to 93,405 after 552 people tested positive for the virus, from a sample size of 7,013 tested in the last 24 hours. Cumulative tests are now at 991,448. The Health Ministry on Thursday confirmed 529 of the new cases are Kenyans while 23 are foreigners.
596 patients have recovered from the disease, 484 from home based care, while 112 have been discharged from various hospitals. Total recoveries now stand at 74,999. Kenya’s fatalities have risen to 1,618 after 4 patients succumbed to the disease. In terms of admissions, there are 843 patients admitted in various health facilities countrywide and 6,090 on home based isolation.
49 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 22 of whom are on ventilatory support, and 21 on supplemental oxygen. 6 are on observation. Another 43 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen out of whom 33 are in the general wards, while 10 are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
The cases in the Counties are distributed as follows; Nairobi 222, Mombasa 46, Homa Bay 33, Lamu 25, Nakuru 23, Taita Taveta 21, Kilifi 21, Nyeri 18, Kiambu 14, Turkana 13, Siaya 13, Embu 12, Kakamega 11, Murang’a 9, Laikipia 9, Machakos 8, Kitui 7, Bungoma 5, Kisumu 5, Kwale 4, Garissa 4, Vihiga 4, Kericho 3, Narok 3, Bomet 3, Meru 3, Makueni 2, Baringo 2, Kisii 2, Marsabit 2, Tana River 1, Kajiado 1, Nyamira 1, Kirinyaga 1 and Mandera 1.
