A motorbike rider escaped death by a whisker after the motorbike he was riding along Eldoret-Kitale road in Likuyani sub-county caught fire mysteriously and burned into ashes.
According to Mr.Brian Eboso, he was ferrying 15 bales of Boma Rhodes hay from Msalaba Yelow to Nangili when the incident occurred at Roberts area a few miles to Nangili market.
He said he didn’t know the danger he was in until he was alerted by a driver and passengers who were in a matatu who shouted at him informing him of the fire on his motorbike.
“I was speeding towards the bridge when I heard people shouting from the matatu when I stopped and looked back I was shocked to see a huge flame of fire on my motorbike,” said Eboso.
Efforts to try and put off the fire with help of his friends were futile as they were overwhelmed and left the motorbike together with the hay to burn.
Eboso added that he has been using the motorbike to carry the hay for several years and had never witnessed such an incident adding that he was still shocked with how the fire broke out.
“In fact today I had safely delivered the first batch of 15 bales to Nangili and it is a business I have been doing for years but how this fire broke out is still a mystery,” he concluded.
