Kenya ambassador to Democratic Republic of Congo Amb George Sirengo Masafu led members of his staff of the Kenya Embassy in DRC in the signing of condolence book to pay last respects to President John Magufuli at the High Commission of Tanzania in Kinshasa

The Kenyan Ambassador was received by Tanzania Ambassador to Democratic Republic of Congo H.E Lt. Gen. (rtd) Paul Ignace Mella, where Amb Masafu condoled with the people of Tanzania

“On behalf of the people of the Republic of Kenya leaving here in DRC and my own behalf would like to send sincere condolence to the family and the people of The United Republic of Tanzania following the death of President John Joseph Pombe Magufuli,” said Amb Masafu

The Ambassador heaped praise on the deceased President singling out his dedication to service for the people of Tanzania

Known as the “bulldozer”, before the pandemic Magufuli was praised for his no-nonsense approach and hailed for his anti-corruption stance and his distinct dislike for wasting money.

Magufuli who died on 17TH March 2021 from a heart condition will be laid to rest Friday 26 March at his home in Chato Village as the Tanzanian government observe 14 national mourning
