West Media Company-owned radio station West FM has continued to expand its listenership by attracting more fans in Uasin Gishu County with four new salaams clubs being launched in Soy Sub County.
The four groups Sach, Somok, Mogoon, Mogoywet, and Engavo were launched under the Uasin Gishu All in One umbrella.
Speaking during the event held at Chebarus PEFA church in Kapkures ward, the umbrella’s acting chair Ms. Alice Nelima said the umbrella targets to roll out several projects aimed at economically empowering its members.
She said, the umbrella will focus on numerous activities ranging from education, trade, health, table banking, and social welfare among others that will benefit members.
Area Member of County Assembly David Tarus, who is the patron of the umbrella reiterated the importance of groups promising to work closely with them to ensure success.

“They say unity is strength but uniting alone is not important, we must direct our strength towards achieving our goals by working extra hard,” said the MCA.
The patron called for maximum cooperation and respect from all members and also transparency and accountability for the groups to succeed in their activities.
The MCA promised to merge some of the groups and facilitate them to register as SACCO to enable them get some benefits from both the county and national governments.
The event was also attended by the Area Chief Mr. Barnaba Tireito who thanked members for being development conscious.
He advised the groups to apply for support from various government organizations to enable them to boost their activities.
“This is a good initiative and I promise to stand with you in every move you make,” he concluded.
