Government assures support for online education

The national government through the ministry of education has assured support, especially in the higher education sector that it will support online and digital learning to ensure students don’t lose out during this corona pandemic.

University education and research Ps Simon Nabukwesi in his official address during the 5th graduation ceremony at Kibabii university said online learning has been handy in ensuring the students go on with their studies.

He said in some countries learning has been ongoing without interruption ever since the outbreak of the pandemic saying Kibabii university has to internationalize its programs so as to attract students even from other countries.

He further thanked the Chancellor of the institution president Uhuru Kenyatta for having been hands-on to ensure the institution soars to greater heights in providing quality education.

He added that having started an endowment fund with a sum of seven million to help the needy students has been of many benefits to the institute and called upon the county government to also join the initiative.

Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati said as a government they have prioritized education saying he will also give out seven million to boost the kitty.

During the ceremony which was presided over virtually by president Uhuru Kenyatta saw many being conferred with certificates, dip[lomas, degrees, masters, and PhDs.

The institution’s vice-chancellor Professor Odeo Ipara vowing to work hand in hand with other stakeholders to have the institution channel the best to the job market.
