The National government is set to complete all the major water projects in Nandi in a period of two years to come so as to facilitate and improve water coverage in the region.
Speaking during the official commissioning of water projects from across the six sub-counties of Nandi, the CAS for water and irrigation Dr. Andrew Tuimur said the water projects will cost Kshs 7 B to be completed in two years to come thus urged the contractors to ensure they work on the projects within the set timelines.
He added that Keben dam has already been awarded and is yet to commence as soon as funds are allocated thus the government is working around the globe to ensure funds are available.
“Funds have been set aside to enhance access of water services to foster health and sanitation in the region thus Nandi has been considered to benefit from the water trust funds.” He affirmed.
Tuimur who was accompanied by other officials from the Ministry of Water and Sanitation cited that some water projects like Kapchemosin, Kipkaren Selia and Kapng’ombe among many other ongoing projects in the region are at its final touches and will be nearing completion as soon as possible to serve residents with clean water.
The CAS urged residents to be a little bit patient as the water projects are being worked on saying that soon and very soon they will be completed.
