The Kenya Certificate of Secondary education(KCSE) national examinations kicked off smoothly today Monday in Nandi. A total of 17,993 registered candidates undertaking the exam in 248 centers across the county

Out of the 17,993 registered KCSE candidates, 8,925 are males while 9,068 are females respectively.

According to the Ministry of Education Nandi, the exercise kicked off well without any hiccups and the examination container was opened at 5;30am in the morning by CAS Water Sanitation and Irrigation Dr Andrew Tuimur.

Tuimur asked the candidates to be bold enough to write their examinations in a credible manner for better results saying he is in Nandi to oversee the examination exercise and ensuring it is done in the right way as per the KNEC directives.

On the other hand, the county commissioner for Nandi Mr. George Omoding said they have beefed up security in all the examination centers to ensure the safety of candidates and examinations.

One candidate from Senetwo High School in Tindiret sub-county was admitted yesterday in one of the hospitals around after falling sick and was brought back in the morning to sit for her exams after recuperating.

Her condition has improved and according to the hospital, she might be discharged today to go home and so far she has written her today’s examinations without any complications and is fairing on well.

In Ndaptabwa Secondary School in Chesumei sub-county an expectant candidate is almost reaching her delivery period as she continues sitting for her papers and is being monitored carefully.
