Kanu party leader Gideon Moi has urged political leaders to differentiate between the Building Bridges Initiative BBI and 2022 politics citing that when the time is ripe for 2022 politics the Kanu party will declare its interest in the top seat. Speaking during a funds drive event for 43 women groups at Psiwo Primary School grounds, Ortum, Moi drummed support for BBI castigating the UDA party with its wheelbarrow politics.
Gideon Moi faulted some political parties for putting the country in a campaigning mood over 2022 politics since they are already campaigning for presidential positionS in 2022. He said politicians should tone down their political campaigns and wait for 2022 when voters will decide who is who in different seats on the ballot.
“2022 politics we are putting our trust in God when it reaches that time and the common mwananchi tells me to go for the top seat I will listen to them.” He said.
He urged politicians to respect the people’s opinions and avoid unnecessary politics. Moi who is also the Baringo senator congratulated all the county assemblies that passed the BBI bill adding that when it will be tabled at the senate he will rally behind the BBI bill.
“Will pass it on the second half game, when it reaches the referendum, am pleading with you my people to pass it. We will campaign for BBI in mashinani because it has goodies.” He said. He added that once the BBI BILL passes counties will get an increase to 35 Percent which will bring development to counties.
“Even if you want to marry another wife you will be at liberty because counties will have adequate funds. No man can oppose that because education will be free. Hospitals, roads, security infrastructure will be improved.” He said.
He added that the Baringo residents will vote yes for BBI despite a section of the county assembly member’s not passing the BBI because they know it’s good for them.
Tiaty MP William Kamket declared senator Gideon Moi as the 5th president of the public of Kenya citing that he has political b connections all over the country.
“My brother has United with President Uhuru Kenyatta in Mt Kenya, Senator Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi in Western region, eastern region he has Kalonzo Musyoka, in coast governor Hassan Joho among others who can enable him to clinch the top seat.” He said.
Senate majority leader said that West Pokot is a Kanu zone and assured him of 100 percent support for his presidency and when the right time comes they will marshal votes for him to clinch the presidency.
“West Pokot is like a home for Gideon Moi when he feels like sleeping in the bedroom and staying in the living room he is at liberty.” He said.
MPs Aden Kenan and Mohamed Hire from North Eastern region, Baringo Women Rep Gladwel Tungo, CAS sports and culture, former governor West Pokot Simon Kachapin, county assembly speaker Catherine Mukenyang among others also drummed up the BBI citing that the pastoral community does not need wheelbarrows for development rather they need BBI to uplift their living standards.
