Sirisia Mp John Koyi Waluke has shelved his 2022 Bungoma County gubernatorial ambitions saying Westlands Mp Tim Wanyonyi is best suited to take Bungoma County to the next level in development.
Addressing the press at his home in Sirisia, Waluke said he has made the decision after wide consultation with his constituents, fellow leaders including the men of the collar saying they have unanimously backed Hon. Tim Wanyonyi to run for the seat.
He added that the current Bungoma governor has not been able to fulfill the promises of the people at the grass-root level saying basing on Tim’s track record he will be able to ascend Bungoma County to the next level.
He disclosed that having been born in Bungoma Tim is at liberty to vie for the seat saying he has been involved in several development projects in the County and his potential is highly regarded by the people of Bungoma County.
Hon Waluke added that the people of Bungoma County should maintain the habit of voting in governors for only five years saying it is enough to prove one’s worth saying Hon Tim Wanyonyi should also serve for five years only.
The race will gain momentum as we near 2022 as Senate speaker Ken Lusaka is touted to return to vie for the seat as well as the incumbent Wycliffe Wangamati is also set to defend the seat.
